Sanjay Dalmia is very keen on the effective industrial growth of India and has served on several influential bodies like PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHD), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), ASSOCHAM, Indo-Israel Joint Business Council etc. He is also a founder director of the Europe-India Chamber of Commerce; (EICC) with headquarters in Brussels, which was formed with the aim of promoting trade, commerce and investments between India and Europe. He was on the Board of Union Bank of India and also was a Member of the Northern Committee of Industrial Development Bank of India.
He is known for his philanthropic efforts and for being vocal on nationalistic causes. He is a former member of the Rajya Sabha and has raised many pertinent issues relating to Finance, Economy and other matter of national importance in the Rajya Sabha during his tenure. He runs “Masoom”- a School for special children from the economically weaker section of the society. Since the inception of Masoom, he has been celebrating his birthday with the school children. Dalmia Sewa Trust is actively involved in various philanthropic activities in Rajasthan such as providing safe drinking water, organizing free health camps, constructing houses and lavatories and advocating the idea of Swachh Bharat by doing its own bit in Chirawa (Rajasthan).
